Lynn Jones Jr., 75, of 2695 Selah Church Road in the Grantham Community, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday evening at 7 at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Family members will remain to greet friends Monday after the funeral service at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Lewis Lynn and Lettie Mae Wallace Jones, father of the late Barbara Jean Jones and father-in-law of the late Jeannie Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Julia Jones; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold Ray "Speed" and Frances Best Jones of Grantham, Lynwood Jones of Grantham; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Jones Joyner and husband, Johnny, of Newton Grove; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ervin and Janet Jones of Goldsboro, Dennis and Della Jones of Raleigh; one sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Tab Butler of Ayden; four grandchildren, Harold Ray Jones Jr. of Durham, Johnny Lynn Joyner of Newton Grove, Lashanda Grissom of Durham, and Elizabeth Ann Jones of Grantham; and three great-grandchildren.
