MILTON M. BURROUGHS
July 26, 1935-May 30, 2009
DUDLEY -- Milton M. Burroughs, 73, 127 Holloman Lane, died Saturday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Juanita Hollowell and the Rev. Elbert Hollowell officiating. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
Milton was born July 26, 1935, in Greene County to the late Nicodemus and Nellie Perry Burroughs.
Milton was a retired painter with Wayne County Schools.
Milton is survived by four children, Jeffery Burroughs and wife, Lynn, of Zebulon, Milton "Mutt" Burroughs of Dudley, Anthony "Andy" Burroughs and wife, Jenny, of Dudley and Sherry Upton and husband, Billy, of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren, Jason Burroughs, Brandon Burroughs, Miranda Burroughs, Donna Sue Register, Nikki Burroughs, Joshua Dante and Emily Upton; and six great-grandchildren, Emily Register, Kelsey Ravenscroft, Caleb Dante, Angelina Dante, Jackson Stader and Preslee Floyd.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ruby Smith Burroughs; brother, Hubert Burroughs; and two sisters, Louise Ruffin and Irene Brock.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Rouse Funeral Home, and at other times they will be at the home.
