Willie Thomas Norris, 65, of 6024 Wayne Memorial Drive, died Friday at his home.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Revs. Gene Turner, Steve Holder and Ralph Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
He was born in Sampson County to the late John Frank and Dora Coor Norris and was married to Christine Jones Norris. A member of Bethel Church, he enjoyed attending church functions and gospel sings as well as throwing horseshoes. He was a retired employee with the City of Wilson.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Norris is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Trent Norris of Dunn, Michael and Pam Thigpen of Pikeville and Gary and Darlene Thigpen of Goldsboro; four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Michael Beasley of Coats, Misty and Michael Fischer of Goldsboro, Kristy and Andy Perry of Goldsboro and Tina and Josh Frazier of Pikeville; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joel and Carol Norris, David and Dale Norris and Larry Norris; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Rev. Ralph Parker, Edna and Frankie Tyndall and Nancy Woodard; 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends Monday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home.
