MOLLIE RUTH IVEY

Mollie Ruth Ivey, 82, passed away on Friday evening at her home surrounded by her family.

A service to celebrate Mollie's life will be held today at 3 p.m. at New Hope Friends Church with Pastor Bill Garner officiating. A private interment will be held Monday at the Wilson Family Cemetery.

Mollie was born in Wayne County on Dec. 4, 1926 to the late Troy Emery Wilson and Esther Long Wilson. She was a faithful member of New Hope Friends Church. Mollie enjoyed helping others and her work for the church. You could always find her at the family country store enjoying the opportunity to catch up with family and friends. Mollie also enjoyed yard work and gardening, as reflected by her beautiful yard.

Mollie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry Ivey; her sons, Ted Emery Ivey and wife, Jewel, of Goldsboro and Robert Wilson Ivey and wife, Donna, of Goldsboro; her sister-in-law, Kathleen Wilson of Goldsboro; nieces Sharon Davenport and Karen Haithcock of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Harriet Ruth Ivey of Goldsboro, Esther Ivey Nagypal and husband, Bela of Raleigh, Emery Donald Ivey and wife, Meghann, of Goldsboro, and Lydia Marlowe Ivey of Goldsboro; and her great-grandchildren, Mollie Ruth Ivey, her namesake, and Taylor Samantha Sledge. In addition, Mrs. Ivey had a special family that includes Joseph Baker, who survives Mrs. Ivey and David Baker, who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Monroe Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Friends Church, 4451 East U.S. 70 Hwy., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

The family will greet friends today following the service at New Hope Friends Church and other times at her home, 314 NC 111 S., Goldsboro.
