GEORGE EDWARD HALES

George Edward Hales, 72, of 199 Hales Road went to be with his Heavenly Father Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be today at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory, with the family receiving friends from 1:30 until 2:45 p.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.

Mr. Hales was born in Wayne County on Dec. 27, 1936 to Gertrude Evans Hales and the late Clifton Hales.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kathryn Taylor Hales; two daughters, Tracy Hales Honrine and husband, Scott, of Pikeville and Latisha Brown and husband, Thomas, of Louisburg, N.C.; a very special nephew, J.C. Tilghman of Goldsboro; sisters, Viola King of Goldsboro and husband, Jerry, Linda Person and husband, James, of Goldsboro, Christine Goetze and husband, Fred, of Nahunta, Shelia Price and husband, Eugene, of Seven Springs and Vickie Tilghman and husband, Elton, of Goldsboro; brothers, Earl Hales and wife, Sarah, of Pikeville, Roy Hales and wife, Marie, of Pikeville, Carl Hales of Pikeville and Kenneth Hales and wife, Linda, of Grantham; and five grandchildren, Taylor, Jacob and Noah Honrine, and Terah and Evan Brown.

The family is being served by Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro where condolences may be posted at www.howellfuneral.com.
