WILSON -- Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Smith Howard, 80, died Friday.
The funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2615 Tilghman Road in Wilson, with interment in Wayne Memorial Park in Goldsboro.
The family will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
She was born in Wilmington Nov. 27, 1928, to the late James William "Willie" and Eba Cogdell Smith. Her husband, William "Bill" W. Howard, died in 1997.
Surviving are her daughter, Susan Mooring and husband, Jay, of Fayetteville; son, William "Wally" W. Howard Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim Smith of Goldsboro.
Memorials are suggested to the University Health Systems Inpatient Hospice, Pitt County Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 8489, Greenville, NC, 27835.
Wilson Memorial Service is handling the arrangements.
