Annie Mae Floyd Todd, 93, was welcomed into Heaven Tuesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Todd's life will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church with her pastor, the Rev. Jimmy Whitfield, her son-in-law, the Rev. Horace Ferguson and a dear friend, the Rev. Roland Harrell officiating. Interment will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Mrs. Todd was born in Columbus County on Oct. 28, 1915, to the late James Clarence Floyd and Beulah Rose West Floyd. She was married for 48 years to the late Rev. Thurman O. Todd. As a pastor's wife, Mrs. Todd was a very important part of her husband's ministry. She was an active member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she had taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Women's Ministry.
On Tuesday's, you could always find Mrs. Todd at the Tuesday Morning Prayer Group uplifting special requests and needs of hurting people in prayer, and after these meetings you could count on the faithful group going to visit and minister to the sick and shut-ins. Mrs. Todd has continued to be an active member of the North Carolina Pentecostal Holiness Conference, which was the conference she and her husband had served so faithfully for so many years.
For those who knew her, Mrs. Todd will be remembered as a caring, compassionate woman, loyal friend to so many and a prayer warrior for anyone's needs. The love in Mrs. Todd's life was God, family and friends. Mrs. Todd believed in the power of prayer and her determination to let it be God's will was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed by many.
Mrs. Todd was the loving mother to three children, Barbara T. (Ann) Warner of Goldsboro, Brenda T. Ferguson and husband, Horace, of Holly Springs, and Thurman O. Todd Jr. of Goldsboro. She is also survived by her sisters, Opal Crowell of Matthews, Maxine Freeman of Lumberton and Linda Small of Lumberton; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and all of her adopted family at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Todd was preceded in death by her sister, Miriam Floyd Tart; and her brothers, J.C. Floyd, David Floyd and John Wesley Floyd.

The family will receive friends Friday following the service in the narthex of the church and other times at her home, 3400 Catherine St., Goldsboro.
