Margaret Southerland Coor, 91, passed away on Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Daly Family Cemetery.

Margaret was born in Wayne County on March 12, 1918, to the late Robert Southerland and Bessie Mae Walker Southerland. She was married to the late Edward F. Coor. Margaret was a member of Seven Springs Baptist Church, where she played the piano for over 20 years, taught Sunday school and was a member of the WMU. She was also a member of the New Hope Grange, where she had served as the pianist.

Margaret is survived by her son, Robert J. Coor of Goldsboro; her sisters, Bobbie Swinson of Raleigh, Georgia Teachey of Seven Springs and Lerlene Deans of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret C. Potter of Goldsboro; and her brother, Robert Southerland.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home, 313 St. John Church Road, Goldsboro.
