HILDA G. JOYNER

Sept. 5 1946-March 24, 2009

PIKEVILLE -- Hilda "Pat" Gray Joyner, 62, passed away Tuesday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

Mrs. Joyner was born in Wilson County on Sept. 5, 1946, to the late L.D. and Velda Crumpler Lucas.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Joyner; two sons, Steven Dwight Moore and girlfriend, Deborah Reen, of Pikeville and Michael Zane Moore of Raleigh; one stepson, Jimmy Ray Joyner Jr. of Pikeville; one stepdaughter, Sabrina Casey Joyner of Williamston; one brother, Bobby Lucas and wife, Welda, of Goldsboro; two half-brothers, Michael Lucas and Eddie Lucas; two sisters, Laura Faye Suzor and husband, Art, of Michigan and Linda Kay Best and husband, Allen, of Smithfield; and two grandchildren, Max William Moore and Elliot Franklin Townsend.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Joyner was preceded in death by one son, Willie Ray Moore.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the residence, 1550 Mount Carmel Church Road in Pikeville. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stantonsburg Cemetery with pastor Mike Williams officiating.
