GREENVILLE -- Nerves might have gotten the best of Charles B. Aycock on Thursday afternoon.
The strength of J.H. Rose also factored into the outcome.
The talented Rampants swept the singles courts and cruised to a 7-2 victory on the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference scene.
Aycock triumphed at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles.
The top-seeded tandem of Karlyn Ray-Laney Reeves posted an 8-0 shutout over Rose's Cecillia Richardson-Jayme Goldman. The No. 2 duo of Abbie Shackleford-Grace Mooring outlasted the Rampants' Madaline Muzzle-Mary Grace Smith 8-4.
The Golden Falcons (2-2 overall, 0-1 ECC) travel to reigning ECC champ D.H. Conley next Tuesday.
