The Rosewood varsity soccer team edged Carolina 1-A foe Neuse Charter on Wednesday, 4-3.
Scoring details were not available as of press time.
Now 4-5-0 overall and undefeated in league play, the Eagles take the pitch again next week versus Lakewood.

Pope John Paul 0
Wayne Country Day School's men's soccer dominated Pope John Paul Wednesday, handing them a hardy defeat of eight goals to none.
Caleb Brewer led the team with a hat trick, followed by Ben Cohen's two goals. Luia Lopez, Christian Garloch and Marquise Newell each put one in the back of the net.
Lopez chalked up a cool three assists, as did Garloch. David Gurley had an assist, and so did Cohen.
"A little slow starting off today but worked through it and got the rewards," said WCDS coach Steve Ellis. "We had 39 shots on goal tonight, so while creating chances our decision-making and conversion rate in the final third has to be better."
The Chargers will play their next match on Friday.
Eastern Wayne 3,
D.H. Conley 4
Eastern Wayne's men's Warriors lost a hard fought war against D.H. Conley's Vikings Wednesday, with the Vikings besting the Warriors four goals to three in the 78th minute.
The two factions went head to head, trading blows to the back of the net all game long until threw Vikings delivered the fatal blow with two minutes left.
"Great fought game," said EWHS coach Scott Summers. "A couple defensive breakdowns but great defensive game throughout. Great game."
Amjad Sarah, Josh Gross and Bryan Morales each scored for the Warriors.
The Warriors are now 3-1-2 overall, and 0-1 in conference play.
Cross Country
SWHS, New Bern, J.H. Rose
Southern Wayne's men's cross country battled it out with competitive teams Wednesday, securing a solid first place over New Bern and J.H. Rose.
The women racers for Southern Wayne placed third.
Jessica Murray, women's cross country coach for Southern Wayne, said she was proud of both teams.
"I couldn't be more proud of our athletes," Murray said. "I have told them all season, 'This is a sport of heart, run the best race you can and don't give up on yourself.' All our athletes performed well, with many running faster races than our last meet."
Top finishers for the Saints were Antonio Broadie, Josh Raynor, Ezekiel Harris, Ryan Norton and Robert Castillo.
Spring Creek, Goldsboro, Clinton, Midway, East Duplin
Three Wayne County men's runners dashed into top 15 spots during Wednesday evening's cross country meet between five area high schools.
Goldsboro's own Jyrei Thompson clocked a time of 18:57, placing fourth, while Spring Creek's Jonathan Diaz placed seventh with a time of 19:35 and Spring Creek's Mark Aviles came in 11th with a time of 20:10.
Two Wayne county women's runners also clocked top 15 times.
Goldsboro's Taylor Lane and Tziah Kely placed 13th and 14th, respectively, with respective times of 28:18 and 28:29.
Volleyball
North Duplin 0,
Princeton 3
Princeton's lady bulldogs defeated North Duplin in three sets Tuesday night, 25-17, 25-16 and 25-15.
Emily Ricks led the Princeton offense with six kills. Sara Daughtry and Harley Parker each had five kills.
Meredith Wooten performed well for the bulldogs, knocking home four aces and serving up 26 assists.
Anna Thornton, Casey King and Taylor Walker each had two aces for North Duplin.
Alyssa Santos had three kills for the lady Rebels, with Callie Thornton and Walker racking up two each.
Tennis
Eastern Wayne 9,
Southern Wayne 0
The Eastern Wayne ladies brought home a clean sweep against Southern Wayne Wednesday, winning six singles matches and three doubles matches for a total of 9-0.
For the lady warriors, Bella Bowen, Emily Stratton, Maddie Agner, Amelia Dunmire, Avan Bowen and Bess Gibson won the singles matches. Bella Bowen and Maggie Agner, Emily Stratton and Amelia Dunmire, and Ava Bowen and Bess Gibson won the doubles matches.
Eastern Wayne's record now stands at 2-4 in the conference and 2-5 overall.
The lady Warriors' next match is today at home against D.H. Conley.

North Duplin 0,
Princeton 2
North Duplin's junior lady rebels lost 0-2 to the Princeton bulldogs Tuesday, placing the rebel's overall record at 5-3 and conference record at 1-3.
Middle School
Football
Norwayne defeated Eastern Wayne 42-8.
Tylil Faison scored three rushing touchdowns for Norwayne.
This brings the football team's record to 1-0. Their next game is at Spring Creek on Thursday, Sept. 21.
