MOUNT OLIVE -- Andres Perez drove in two runs and No. 6-ranked North Georgia emerged as the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional champion with a 5-4 victory over Catawba at Scarbourgh Field on Monday afternoon.
The second-seeded Nighthawks (46-10 overall) clinched a berth in the eight-team College World Series in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Catawba, which played its third elimination-round game in a 24-hour span, concluded the year 40-17 overall.
The Indians knotted the game at 4-all on RBI hits from Bryce Fowler and Nick Coble in the top half of the eighth inning. The two-run rally erased a 3-0 deficit that lasted for six innings.
Perez answered with a game-deciding home run in the bottom of the eighth for NGU.
Regional host University of Mount Olive, the No. 1 seed, fell to Catawba on Sunday. The Trojans posted a 48-10 record.
