GIRLS' TENNIS: Eastern Wayne shuts out Southern Wayne

DUDLEY -- Eastern Wayne won five matches in shutout fashion and handed Southern Wayne a 9-0 loss on the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference scene Thursday afternoon.
Emily Uzzell, Morgan Agner and Bella Bowen each won 6-0, 6-0 at their respective singles flights. The No. 2 doubles of Morgan Agner-Bowen and No. 3 tandem of Samantha Roux-Emily Stratton each claimed an 8-0 decision.
Maddie Agner dropped one game in singles and won at No. 1 doubles with Uzzell. Roux won 6-2, 6-0 and Stratton picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win.
Eastern Wayne (3-3 overall, 3-1 ECC) continues play Tuesday at C.B. Aycock.
