• Boys' soccer: Wayne Country Day 4, Christ Covenant 0 -- Frank Best notched the eventual game-winning goal on an assist from Tanner Willman. Best added his second goal off Dylan Brown's pass. Max Young and Kevin Baker provided one goal apiece. Thad Moye had one assist. Brown assisted on Baker's goal. The Chargers (2-1-2) overall) entertain Neuse Charter next Thursday.
• Volleyball: Hobbton d. North Duplin 25-15, 25-18 -- North Duplin dropped to 1-3 against Carolina 1-A Conference opposition this season.
