Spring Creek clinches Carolina 1A baseball crown outright

WARSAW -- Spring Creek put the finishing touches on its second consecutive Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season crown with a 10-6, eight-inning triumph over James Kenan on Wednesday evening.
Sawyer Smith earned the mound win with 32/3 innings of five-strikeout relief. Will Rouse started and surrendered five runs (two earned) on five hits and struck out four JK batters.
Hunter Walker led the Gators, who pushed across four eight-inning runs, with three hits and an RBI. Kane Geelen batted 2-for-4.
Smith, Kaden Geelen (two RBI), Rouse (two RBI) and Josh Lebron (RBI) each posted one hit. Matt Dupuy added an RBI.
