Howell, Jones power Goldsboro softball past Ayden-Grifton

* LITTLEFIELD -- Goldsboro upended Ayden-Grifton, 20- 6, in Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference game Wednesday evening.
Riley Howell was 3-for-3 at the plate and recorded two RBI. Dakota Jones was 3-for-5 and grabbed a double. Matti Rose Lyon and Marcy Taylor both picked up one double each for the Cougars.
Goldsboro head coach T.J. Lancaster said his pitcher, Taylor, threw four strikeouts against the Chargers -- a day before the Cougars face conference rival Greene Cental tonight at 5 p.m.
