Rosewood's Neal tosses one-hit gem

SPIVEY'S CORNER -- Nick Neal flirted with a perfect game for 51/3 innings and finished with a one-hitter during Rosewood's 3-0 conquest of perennial 2-A power Midway on Monday evening.
The Eagles swept the two-game regular-season series.
Neal posted 10 strikeouts and didn't walk a batter during his complete-game effort.
Boone Moody, Ethan Chapin (RBI), Hayden Amodeo and Chance Howard recorded one hit apiece for the Eagles. Amodeo scored one run.
Rosewood (3-1 overall) returns home today for a non-conference contest against Charles B. Aycock. First pitch is 5 p.m.
