BOYS -- Spring Creek extends win streak to 11

CALYPSO -- Gary Williams drained three consecutive 3-pointers in the third quarter as Spring Creek pulled away from North Duplin, 71-47, in a Carolina 1-A Conference game Friday evening.
Williams emerged as one of three SC players in double figures with 13 points. Trey Hammonds just missed a double-double with 17 points and eight rebounds. The senior also picked the Rebels for five steals and doled out four assists.
Brandon Gonzalez provided 10 points, four assists and four steals.
Dashawn Braswell (eight points), Chad Spurgeon (seven points) and Najee Young (six points) also scratched in the scoring column for the Gators, who extended their program-best win streak to 11 games.
Tyree Payton and Trey Pate pumped in 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the Rebels. Cedric Kornegay supplied seven points, while Dexter Morrisey collected six points.
SC (12-2 overall, 5-0 Carolina) is the guest of league-leading James Kenan on Wednesday. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. at Harmon Gym. North Duplin (2-10, 1-5) entertains Princeton the same evening.
