* Boys' basketball: Goldsboro Heat 67, Durham Flight 45 -- Gavin Portela logged a triple-double -- 22 points, 12 rebounds, 10 steals -- in the victory. Gavin Simmons contributed a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Harman Kaler chipped in 12 points. Goldsboro (9-4 overall) visits Harnett County on Friday.
Middle schools
* Boys' basketball: Goldsboro Heat 33, Durham Flight 8 -- Simon Hibbard paced the Heat with eight points and five rebounds. Seth Daniels knocked down seven points. Goldsboro (4-7 overall) is the guest of Harnett County on Friday.
