Rosewood's Thornton scores game-winning run on passed ball

Junior Callie Thornton scored on a passed ball in the sixth inning to put Rosewood ahead for good in its 4-3 triumph over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Lakewood on Monday evening.
Shayla Marak had a double in her two-hit performance for the Eagles. Carrie Ann Beckert had two hits and Alicia Burns scored a run.
Freshman Hailey Weeks went five innings in the circle. Thornton came on in the sixth to secure the win.
Rosewood (11-4 overall, 8-3 CC) entertains Princeton in its regular-season finale on Wednesday.
