Defending 1A independent baseball champs defeat WCDS

MERRY HILL -- Wayne Country Day ran out of pitching Thursday evening and fell 13-3 to six-time defending N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A state champion Lawrence Academy.
Wayne Country Day used four pitchers. But coach Michael Taylor decided to not go any further into the bullpen for a non-conference game.
Mason Bland had two hits and an RBI for the Chargers. Parker Smith added a hit.
WCDS (6-4 overall) entertains Freedom Christian today.
