The Trojan: Limestone men, women claim team titles

Limestone (S.C.) University swept the men's and women's team titles during The Trojan contested on the Walnut Creek Country Club links.
The Saints defeated perennial Conference Carolinas power Barton 580-589. Belmont Abbey finished two strokes back at 591, followed by tournament host University of Mount Olive with a 593.
The Abbey's Matt Reid emerged as the men's individual champion with a two-day round of 7-under par 137. First-day leader Griffin Brown of Limestone ended up second at 2-under. Mount Olive's Jesus Valderrama and Barton Dermot McElhennon each posted an even-par 144.
Mark O'Hara and Dalton Gore complemented Valderrama with identical 36-hole scores of 6-over 150. Sophomore Sebastian Andersen fired an 8-over 152.
On the women's side, Limestone edged Peach Belt member Lander (S.C.) University 601-605.
Golfers from Limestone and Lander combined to take the top six spots during individual play. The Saints' Taylor McInnis claimed medalist honors with a 3-over par 147 -- two strokes better than runner-up Marianna Martins of Lander.
Lovisa Tillstrom led UMO's charge with a 36-hole effort of 9-over 153. Julie Loennechen finished at 155. Anne Barboteau (157), Emy Ohling (160) and Stefany King (172) rounded out the Trojans' top five scorers.
