MOUNT OLIVE -- Steven Cruse recorded a match-high 21 kills and the University of Mount Olive men's volleyball team advanced to the Conference Carolinas tournament semifinals with a 25-14, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21 conquest of in-state foe Lees-McRae on Wednesday evening.

The third-seeded Trojans (14-11 overall) travel to second-seeded Pfeiffer on Saturday. In the other semifinal, fifth-seeded Barton is the guest of regular-season champion Erskine (S.C.) College.

The champion earns the league's first-ever automatic bid to the newly-expanded NCAA men's volleyball championships.

UMO compiled a .356 team hitting percentage.

Quaid Marin tallied 53 assists and served four of the Trojans' 12 team aces.
