Rosewood's Thornton tosses no-hitter

WARSAW -- Callie Thornton threw a no-hitter as Rosewood defeated James Kenan, 11-0, on the Carolina 1-A Conference softball scene.
Thornton logged five strikeouts and walked three Tigers in the mercy-rule affair.
Rosewood pumped out 10 hits including a two-hit night for Hayley Mercer that included a double. Kaitlyn Pipkin and Keelin Hunter also each recorded a double and Pipkin had two RBI.Freshman Hailey Weeks had a triple.
The Eagles (6-2 overall, 5-2 Carolina 1-A) travel to Hobbton on Friday.
