RALEIGH -- Rosewood sophomore Lexi Mercer has been selected to the 2013-14 North Carolina All-State girls' basketball team, which was announced by the Associated Press on Wednesday afternoon.

Mercer guided the Eagles to a 25-win season and the program's first appearance in the eastern regional championship game since 1983. The guard/forward averaged 25.5 points and 10.1 rebounds a game for the Eagles.

Rosewood won the Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season championship for the first time since 2007 and just the fourth time overall in school history.

Overall, Mercer posted 15 double-doubles this season and surpassed the 1,000-point plateau for her career.

Mercer received nine votes from a panel of 25 sportswriters statewide.

Also on the first team are Jamie Cherry of West Craven, Paris Kea (Greensboro Page), Rydeiah Rogers (Myers Park), Azura Stevens (Cary), Jatarie White (Providence Day), Madi Story (Bandys), Rachel Camp (East Rutherford), Akela Branch (Albemarle), Brittany Drumgoole (Kinston), Jazmine Jones (West Forsyth) and Danasia Witherspoon (Hickory).
