Eastern Wayne's Bubba Williams and Craig Hassell earned coach-of-the-year accolades in their respective sports, while senior Faith Sutton was recognized as the Eastern Carolina 3-A/4-A Conference player-of-the-year in girls' tennis.

Williams guided the Warriors to a school-record 11 victories on the football field and first-ever appearance in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A eastern regional championship game.

The Warriors' Derius Evans, Dayshawn Pridgen, Jake Wiser, Mitch Pike and Chris Pridgen garnered first-team all-ECC accolades in football.

Hassell's team ended regular-season play unbeaten, including a 12-0 record against ECC opposition.

Eastern Wayne's Videl Wright earned a spot on the all-ECC men's cross country team. Meanwhile, Jenna Rouse picked up all-ECC accolades after helping the volleyball squad advance to the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs for the first time since 2006.
