FARMVILLE -- Rosewood recorded two key victories in the upper weights and dumped Farmville Central, 54-24, in a non-conference affair Tuesday evening.
The Eagles' Rayquon Jones (220 pounds) and heavyweight Kaleb Taylor each posted back-to-back pins to help the seal the outcome.
"I was very happy with Rayquon and Taylor," RHS head coach Bill Edmundson said. "This is where Farmville Central really shines with their extremely athletic, bigger football players that come out for wrestling. Our young men were patient and waited for the right set ups to win the match.
"This is something very hard to teach wrestlers, and finesse usually comes with experience.
Malique Boyd (113), Nick Martin (126), Matt Raynor (132), Sam Drew (138), Cameron Helt (152), Josh Drew (170) and Jayden Thomas (103) each emerged victorious on the night.
"We had a great team effort tonight and wrestled with poise, enthusiasm and confidence," Edmundson said. "I think that made the difference in the match."
Rosewood (13-1 overall) returns to action Friday in a multi-team dual match at Eastern Wayne.
