Goldsboro's Vick wins pair of events

Goldsboro's Timmy Vick touched the wall first in two events during a multi-team meet contested at the B.G. Darden Natatorium inside the Goldsboro Family Y on Tuesday evening.
Vick claimed the 500-yard freestyle in 5 minutes 55.11 seconds. He also emerged victorious in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.64) and placed third in the 100 backstroke (1:26.96).
Charles B. Aycock's Zech Chastain captured first in the 200 individual medley (IM) in 2:12.79 and wound up third in the 50 free (24.87). Teammate Devin Hall won the 1-meter diving with 173 points.
Eastern Wayne's Will Samson finished runner-up in the 200 free with a time of 2:19.84. He swam the third leg on the Warriors' 400 free relay, which placed second. Joining him were Brad Makdad, Ryan Fleming and Greg Moorehead.
Makdad took third in the 100 backstroke.
Rosewood's Kodey Silknitter logged second-place efforts in the 200 IM (2:22.91) and 100 free (56.62).
On the girls' side, Southern Wayne's Chloe Edwards seized third place in the 100 butterfly in 1:39.78.
The Warriors' Tricia Malcolm secured first in the 100 free (1:02.88) and third in the 50 free (27.85).
Goldsboro's Olivia Paul grabbed fourth in the 500 free (7:23.71).
Rosewood's Cierra Satterfield touched the wall third in the 200 IM.
