WCDS boys drop decision to Trinity Christian-Fayetteville

Wayne Country Day hung around but could not find the momentum to overcome Trinity of Fayetteville in a 70-60 loss on Wednesday night.

Joel Davis led the Chargers with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Lee Atkinson added 12 points and eight assists. Victor Miller had nine points.

Virginia Commonwealth coach Shaka Smart attended the game along with scouts from several in-state schools including Guilford and N.C. Wesleyan.

Wayne Country Day (9-3 overall) faces Rocky Mount Prep at Greenfield on Dec. 19.
