Greenfield forfeits to Wayne Country Day

Greenfield forfeited its opening-round game to Wayne Country Day in the Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference tournament.
The fourth-seeded Chargers (11-8 overall) oppose regular-season champ Freedom Christian at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Oakwood School in Greenville.
The tournament winner earns the automatic qualifying bid to the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association 1-A playoffs.
