WCDS boys charge to second-place finish in CPIC meet

NEW BERN -- Epiphany claimed both the boys' and girls' Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference championships on Wednesday afternoon at Creekside Park.
Wayne Country Day finished second on the boys' side led by Jackson Warren's third-place finish of 19:35. Robert Glass, Connor Shaw and Stone Wayne also participated for the Chargers.
On the girls' side, Lisa Peacock finished 11th overall for Wayne Country Day. Amy Hodges crossed the line in 15th place.
Wayne Country Day will run in the N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association state championship meet Oct. 26 at Wake Med Soccer Complex in Raleigh.
