CBA defends ECC 3-A girls' golf title; Simmons named ECC golfer-of-the-year

FOUR OAKS -- Charles B. Aycock locked up its second consecutive Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference title with a victory at Reedy Creek Country Club on Tuesday afternoon
C.B. Aycock fired a team score of 136. Triton finished second with a 157, Cleveland (169) was third and South Johnston (174) finished fourth.
Tara Simmons led the Golden Falcons with a round of 33 and finished as the conference player of the year. Madison Aycock shot a 48 and was named all-ECC. Madison Batts finished with a 55.
C.B. Aycock returns to action Monday in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A eastern regional at Birchwood Country Club in Nashville.
