Dual-team tennis: Eastern Wayne dispatches West Carteret

Eastern Wayne cruised past West Carteret 6-0 in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A dual-team playoffs Tuesday afternoon.
Savannah Sutton, Faith Sutton, Grace Delbridge, McKenna Dove, Cameron Dove and Brittney Brinson each recorded a singles win for the Warriors. Brinson moved into the No. 6 slot to help compensate for the absence of Blake Govan, who is currently out with an injury.
Eastern Wayne (15-2 overall) visits Union Pines in the second round on Oct. 23.
