CALYPSO -- North Duplin scored 27 unanswered points in the second half and rolled to a 48-14 victory over Chocowinity Southside on Friday night at H.E. Grubbs Field.

Tyler Royal got the Rebels on the board with a pair of scoring runs in the first quarter that were each punctuated by an extra-point kick from Antonio James.

Southside stormed back to tie the game when Rakeem Miller reached the end zone on consecutive Seahawks possessions.

North Duplin took the lead for good when Julio Mora broke free for a 12-yard score just before halftime and made the score 21-14.

The second half was all Rebels.

Royal added two touchdown runs in the third quarter and Mora reached the end zone to start the fourth. Caleb Brock capped the scoring with a six-yard touchdown run in the final minutes.

North Duplin tallied exactly 400 yards of offense -- all on the ground. Royal led the way with 255 yards on 22 carries and four touchdowns. Mora added 113 yards on 17 carries.

The Rebels did not attempt a pass in the game.

North Duplin (1-0 overall) travels to Lakewood next week.
