JV sports
• Volleyball: Rocky Mount Prep d. Goldsboro 25-17, 25-20, 25-21 -- Maddie Jara recorded eight kills and six aces for the Cougars. Shamonica Artis supplied six kills.
• Volleyball: Faith Christian-RM d. Wayne Country Day 25-13, 25-17: Tiffany Larsen led WCDS with three kills and two assists. Teriece Hawley served two aces. Stephanie Schappell added one ace, one kill and one dig. Olivia Dively (one ace, one kill) and Cheyenne Canuette (ace) also contributed on the day. The Chargers (1-1 overall) travel to Goldsboro High on Aug. 23.
