Hawks' diamond nine soar past Cleveland, 12-0

CLAYTON -- Caleb Kearney permitted two hits in a complete-game effort, and North Lenoir dispatched Cleveland 12-0 in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play Friday evening.
Kearney logged seven strikeouts and walked two batters in the mercy rule-shortened affair.
Chastin Radford paced the Hawks' offense with three hits and four RBI. Rand Jackson (RBI), Bryan Hardy and Addison Harper contributed two hits apiece.
Grayson Phillips (three RBI), Spencer Bass (RBI) and David Wiggins (RBI) each recorded one hit.
The Hawks (10-2 overall, 5-2 ECC) entertain C.B. Aycock on Tuesday.
