MOUNT OLIVE -- Kelly Minshew's walk-off, fifth-inning home run capped Mount Olive's mercy rule-shortened, 11-3 victory over Queens University in game two of a Conference Carolinas softball twinbill Sunday afternoon.

The Royals took the opener, 8-4.

The Trojans (17-22 overall, 5-5 CC) led 6-3 in game two when Aubrey Reinhard led off the fifth inning with a single. After an error and a sacrifice put runners on second and third, Olivia Poplin hit a line drive that glanced off the first baseman's glove for a two-run double.

Poplin scored on Alyssa Bradshaw's single to extend the Trojans' lead to 9-3. After an infield pop-out, Minshew lined a 2-0 pitch over the left field fence to give Mount Olive the victory. Minshew's home run was her second of the doubleheader and third of the season.

Trojan starting pitcher Ana Cooke overcame a two-out single in the second when catcher Robbin Kennedy threw out a runner attempting to steal second to end the inning. Carly White (8-7) held Queens hitless in three scoreless innings. White and Cooke combined for a three-hitter.

In game one, Queens took command with a five-run, seventh-inning uprising. Kristin Ware (3-3) suffered the mound loss for Mount Olive.

The Trojans travel to in-state conference foe St. Andrews on Tuesday.
