PIKEVILLE -- Autumn Pittman swatted a home run and Charles B. Aycock hammered J.H. Rose 9-1 in non-conference, high school softball action Friday evening.
It was Pittman's team-leading, third homer of the season and boosted her RBI total to an area- and team-high 22.
Brooke Bell (2 RBI), Amber Rose (RBI), Misty Edwards (2 RBI) and Sarah Beth Marquis (RBI) contributed two hits apiece for the Golden Falcons. Overall, Aycock cranked out 12 hits.
Bell held the Rampants hitless for three innings inside the pitcher's circle and claimed the mound win. Pittman and Ashley Shingleton combined for four innings of two-hit, five-strikeout relief.
C.B. Aycock (8-3 overall) returns to action Tuesday at Southern Wayne. First pitch is 7 p.m.

Sara Best tallied the lone goal in Wayne Country Day's 3-1, non-conference loss to Wilson Christian Academy on Friday afternoon.
Catherine Ford served as goalie for the Chargers.

Susan Davis was the game-of-the-week winner during action on the Lane Tree Golf Club links.
Linda Hilburn and Nan Jarrell seized low net and low putts, respectively.
In a recent Eastern Ladies League meet at Kinston Country Club, Linda Watson took second low net honors in first flight competition. Hilburn claimed second low net in third flight, while Lou Ellen Flowers grabbed low putts.
Betty Jean Gurley picked up first low gross in fourth flight.
