James Logan Lane, 66, Rosewood, passed away Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018, at Wayne UNC Hospital in Goldsboro.

Logan was born in Wayne County July 12, 1952, to the late Jim and Tiny Lane.

He retired from AP Parts in Goldsboro after 28 years of service, and following retirement, Logan continued working as a truck driver.

Logan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

He was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate Logan’s life will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Judy Tillman, 116 Neal Drive, Goldsboro.

Interment will be Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, in Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.

Logan is survived by his daughter, Tina Hopper and husband, Jeff, of Rosewood; son, Dale Best Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Kinston; sisters, Bonnie Moody of Grantham and Judy Tillman of Rosewood; brother, Jeff Lane of Rosewood; seven grandchildren, Carlie Hopper, Alex Johnson, Dustin Best, Caitlin Best, Jadin Best, Rusty Flowers and Christy Pierce; and a great-grandchild, Kinslee Flowers.

We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Wayne UNC Hospital for the love and care it provided for Logan during his final days. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

Also a thank you to Kenny and Cathy Harrison and the caregivers at Fresenius Dialysis Care in Goldsboro, who cared for Logan over these past years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Best Flowers.
