Philip Kevin LeRoy, 59, Pikeville, passed away suddenly Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, at his home.

Kevin was born in Little Rock, Ark., Jan. 6, 1959, to Patricia Jouett LeRoy of Goldsboro and the late Henry Philip LeRoy.

He retired as a deputy sheriff from the Princess Anne Sheriff Department in Virginia Beach.

As a young man, Kevin was accomplished in martial arts, and was recognized for his skill on the Wall of Koda Kan in Okinawa, Japan.

Kevin was also a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors, on the water or in the woods. He was a hunter of big and small game, and loved walking in the woods and fields.

Kevin was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Faith Free Will Baptist Church, followed by a service to celebrate Kevin’s life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary, with the Rev. Christian Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

In addition to his mother, Kevin is survived by his wife, Isabel B. LeRoy; daughter, Carina Elizabeth LeRoy; son, James Philip LeRoy; brother, Patrick Shannon LeRoy of Seven Springs; sisters, Lucinda LeRoy Glaug of Goldsboro and Doricia LeRoy Benton of Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 1200 W. Grantham St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
