Miss Makayla Rakeema Howell, 9, LaGrange, passed Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at home.
The celebration of her precious life will be Thursday, July 26, at 11 a.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 2110 N. William St., Goldsboro. She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park North, 1191 Old Grantham Road, Goldsboro.
Vistation will be Wednesday, July 25, from 3 to 7 p.m. with the family arriving to receive friends from 6 to 7p.m. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations.
Makayla was born Jan. 23, 2009, in Goldsboro to Mandisa Thompson and Rakeem Howell.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Donte' Sumlin, of the home and her father; grandmother, Brenda Thompson and Rosemary Stevenson, of Goldsboro; grandfather, Gary Howell, of Goldsboro; and host of other family and friends.
She was a student at Tommy's Road Elementary School.
The family is receiving friends at the home of her grandmother, Brenda S. Thompson, 1209 S. Best St., Goldsboro, where it will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
