HELEN WINDERS BROWN LANCASTER

Jan. 26, 1935-July 19, 2018

Helen Winders Brown Lancaster, 83, Pikeville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 23, 2018, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. 

Mrs. Lancaster was born in Wilson County January 26, 1935, to the late Benjamin F. Winders and Mertie Minchew Winders.

She graduated from Fremont High School in 1953, and later became a housewife, mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother.

Mrs. Lancaster was an dedicated Avon representative for 38 years, and member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Lee G. Lancaster; her son, Gregory H. Brown of Goldsboro; her son-law, Perry Brown of Sanford; her stepchildren, Debby L. Howell (Jay) of Pikeville and Gordon Lancaster (Terri) of Goldsboro; her stepgrandchildren, Trudi H. Rast (Matt) of Pikeville and Paige H. Renfrow (Brandon) of Pikeville; her stepgreat-grandchildren, three boys and four girls; and her sister, Julia W. Bennett of Elizabeth, N.C. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lancaster was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Brown; her daughter, Kimberly Brown; 12 brothers; and three sisters. 

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
