Willie Freeman Garrett, affectionally known as "Dickie Bird," a resident at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehab Center of Goldsboro, N.C., passed Monday, June 4, 2018, at Wayne UNC Health Care of Goldsboro, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Garrett; his father, Haskell Garrett; his mother, Mary Henderson Garrett; and his brother, Johnny H. Garrett.
He is survived by three sisters, Shirley J. Hinnant of Goldsboro, N.C., Janie M. McCleese of Irvington, N.J., and Emma B. Hamilton of Goldsboro, N.C.; several nieces, nephew, including a special nephew, Terrill L. Atkinson; and a host of other dear Webtown buddies and friends including, Mr. Milton "Bartender" Best and Mr. Harvey Jacobs both of Goldsboro, N.C.
There will be a viewing held Monday, June 11, 2018, from 2 to 6 p.m. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home of Goldsboro, N.C.
Their interment will be private.
Services of compassionate and distinguished class entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations of Goldsboro.
