MASTER SGT. JAMES MARTIN FRIBERG

Master Sgt. James Martin Friberg passed away May 17, 2018.

He was in the United States Air Force for 23 years and nine months before he was medically retired.

He worked at Down East for 13 years. He was the manager before he became too sick to work.

He was born to Lola and Vernon Friberg Feb. 7, 1955.

He was raised on a Wisconsin dairy farm in Siren, Wis.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Bliss T. Friberg, the love of his life; a stepson, Doug McMullen and wife, Amber; granddaughters, Gracen and Ashtyn; a stepdaughter, Stacey Bollinger-Pierce and husband, Bryan; and a granddaughter, Athena.

He is survived by his older brothers, Verne Friberg and wife, Mary, and Gerry Friberg and wife, Cheryl.

He was cremated, and a private burial will be at a later date.

He had failing health in the last year, and was in and out of the hospital.

Seven years ago, he was diagnosed with kidney disease, liver disease and COPD.

In the last three months, he had gotten sepsis.

He passed away at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill.

He was preparing to go on the liver transplant list. It just wasn't meant to be. God had other plans for him.
