KENNETH ABNER BOYD

Kenneth Abner Boyd, 84, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Kenneth was born in Pitt County on Feb. 23, 1934, to the late Sherman Lee Boyd and Daisy Teel Boyd. He retired from O'Berry Center and later worked with the Swop Shop in Goldsboro. Kenneth was a member of Goldsboro Worship Center. His warmth, generosity and kind spirit were well known and cherished by those he encountered throughout his life. Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Kenneth's life in the chapel, with Pastor Danny Johnson officiating. Interment will be at noon in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with military honors.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Judy Jones Boyd; son, Kenneth Lee Boyd; daughter, Krystal Leigh Lewis; and grandchildren, Isaiah Jordan Lewis, Kyson Thomas Scott and Alex Dishman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
