MARY THOMPSON WHITFIELD

Mary Thompson Whitfield, 74, of 1203 Franklin St., peacefully succumbed to the Lord's call Tuesday morning at her residence.
She was born Sunday, June 13, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Willie and Doris Bazemore.
The triumphant homegoing service will be held Tuesday at noon at the Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Her mortal frame will be laid to rest in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Treasured memories are held dear by her children, Linda Flanagan of Seven Springs, N.C., James Arthur Whitfield Jr., and Anthony Whitfield, both of Goldsboro, N.C., and Carol Swinson of Mount Olive, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other dear relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home.
