Joe Dan Waller, 64, Mount Olive, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Joe Dan was born in Wayne County on Nov. 11, 1953, to the late Stephen Allen Waller and Jessie Rose Waller-Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jayne Grimes Waller.
Joe Dan owned and operated Waller Hardware in Mount Olive for 32 years. He enjoyed traveling with family and loved spending time at the beach. Joe Dan will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Berry House officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday following the service at the cemetery and other times at his home in Mount Olive.
Joe Dan is survived by his wife, Karen E. Waller; stepson, Blake Cooper and wife, Allison; sister, Donna Fulghum; mother-in-law, Jean Collier; his canine companions, Buddy and Anna-Belle; and several nieces and nephews he loved very much.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534 or to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
