JEAN JOHNSON

Betty Jean Heath Johnson, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family. Jean was born in Pitt County on Nov. 23, 1940, to the late James William Heath and Helen Pearl Durham Heath.
She had retired from management from the retail business. In 1976, Jean opened United Figure Salon in Greenville which was the first health spa in North Carolina. She faithfully attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Goldsboro where she served with the M-25 Ministry.
For those who knew Jean, she will be remembered as a generous, caring, strong will, compassionate and loyal friend to so many. She had a tireless commitment to help and care for others and had devoted her life to helping area senior citizens. Even during her illness, she never gave up or let go of her firm belief in the power of prayer. Jean's determination to let it be God's will was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be missed by many.
A service to celebrate Jean's life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Rev. Bill Rose officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the church. Interment will be on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Hollywood Cemetery in Farmville.
Jean leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Lisa Jones of Goldsboro; her sons, James Allen "Jimmy" Cayton and wife, Nancy, of Greenville and David Leon Cayton of Ayden; her grandchildren, Paige Cayton, Chase Allen Cayton, Joshua Jones, Kristen Wagner, Alley Cayton and Abigail Cayton; her sisters, Marie Nanney of Farmville and Ann Howell of Goldsboro; and her brother, Charles William Heath, of Las Vegas, Nev. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her son, Michael Scott Cayton; and sister, Carolyn Whitehurst, of Blackstone, Va.

And now, as we bring this memorial sketch to a close, we say farewell and may you rest in peace until the dawn of the Resurrection Morning when we shall all be reunited.
