Louise Diggs Simms, 82, 6127 Blalock Road, Lucama, passed away Friday, Nov. 10.
A celebration of her life and legacy will be held Saturday, Nov. 18, at noon at Contending for the Faith Church Ministries, 1006 Academy St., Wilson. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Left to remember her with love and thankfulness are her daughter, Chakela Medose Simms Butler (Rickey) of Matawan, N.J.; her sons, Dexter Lugenus Simms (Patti) of Black Creek, N.C., Darvis Reginald Simms of Raleigh, N.C., and pastor Jeffrey Antonio Simms (Laura) of Chapel Hill, N.C.; one sister, Arbor Fox of Ayden, N.C.; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 E. Nash St., Wilson. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 6161 Lucama Road, Lucama. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence, and will assemble there at 11 a.m. Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
