Ella Elizabeth Lancaster Ginn Wilkins, 81, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Ella was born in Wayne County, N.C., on Dec. 19, 1935, to the late William Sanders Lancaster and Lucille Parker Lancaster. At the time of her death, she lived in the same home in which she was born. She was married to her first husband, Ray Lee Ginn, who passed away in 1965, and later married W.J. Wilkins, who died in 1998.

Ella was retired from the Wayne County Tax Department. She was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, Ambassador Sunday School Class, Alpha Circle, and faithfully attended Tuesday morning Bible study. Ella was a 1953 graduate of Pikeville High School and also graduated from Crumpler Business School.

A service to celebrate Ella's life will be held Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Interment will be Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Lancaster Family Cemetery on Lancaster Road.

Ella is survived by her daughter, Lynette Ginn Wohlgemuth and husband, George, of Pikeville. She is also survived by her special friends: Tommy and Lynn Herndon, Effie Labrecque, Lillie Jones, Ann Gurley and Betty Kearney.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Ella was preceded in death by her brother, George Woodard Lancaster.
